Today was a fairytale, haha 😆
Today, we went to Bishan Active Park for collecting recyclable stuff from few blocks around there. I was a volunteer with RI students and their friends from Mahidol School (โรงเรียนมหิดลวิทยานุสรณ์). It started at 9am until 11am. It was very tiring, yet fun. From all the nine groups that participated, our groups got the most number of stuff which was around 1.5 tonnes. We even got free drinks from the residents that we asked for recyclable stuff. The teachers and the students from both RI and Mahidol and both me and Ni Ni all worked hard to get all the stuff down to the first floor then moved it to the collection point to be weighed by the NEA stuff and later be taken for recycling.
It was quite eye-opening to see that we can do more for saving the environment from small little things such as participating to help in recycling programmes, separating recyclable and non-recyclable stuff. Singapore’s Semakau Island can only last for 40 years, thus all Singaporeans must contribute in one way or another.
I feel like joining another similar programme. 😀
